The nights are getting colder but the days are still warm enough. Fall has hit the Cariboo and it is time to make some changes at the shelter. Some of the companion animals are being reclaimed and going home while others patiently wait for their turn. There is still areas on alert so not all animals will be returning yet. There are fences to mend and pens to fix first. There is feed to pick up and houses to derodent (if that is even a word) as vacant homes can invite unwanted guests. Evacuating was fast and grab what you can but going home can take time. Clean up takes time. Restocking takes time but most of all feeling safe again will take time.
